Autumn picks...

The shops at the minute are still in limbo, transferring from end of summer/autumn to full on winter.  I've already spotted the Christmas jumper in H&M stores a couple of weeks ago, which has given the nudge to the rest of the high street to continue.  This is problematic for me, as it's giving me the false sense that I should be tucked up on an evening in my Fair Isle jumper, thick chunky socks sipping on a calorie busting hot chocolate.  The reality is, it was 15degrees yesterday, and I was sweltering wrapped under umpteen layers.  In short, we're not ready to face blizzards just yet, we just need a cardi on.  Here's my pick of the high street cover ups:

Zara are playing it safe with good tailoring, mid-length muted colours.  You can't go wrong with black either.

It's all about colour at Oasis this Autumn/Winter, and I love the shapes of the dresses below.  I also love the colour combination of the knit with the teal trousers.

This will make a fab outfit, adding some sombre colour with the jazzy trousers.

For the more purse busting options, these pieces are worthy of saving up for:

Reiss are famous for their tailored shapes.  I love the length of the skirt paired with a simple knit, perfect for us curvy ladies.  The dress is drop waist, so would work best on more athletic shapes.

It's all about cashmere at Whistles this season, and I think pairing with well cut jeans or ankle length trousers is the best way to let the knit do the talking!

KG never lets you down for shoes.  I love the clean line of these boots as well as the colour.  They are a 'go with everything' pair, perfect for any wardrobe.  The blue courts are great for adding a pop of colour to a black ensemble, or colour clashing with dark red.  The black loafers are also a main capsule wardrobe shoe.

With the colder weather snapping at our noses, now is the best time to invest in a thicker, more nourishing face cream.  I've been using L'Occitane Immortelle Divine Extract along with Divine Cream.  Pricey, but your face will thank you for it!  Shop for it here.

It's also the time of year to catch a few bargains in the sale!  Whistles, Oasis, Topshop and H&M are all in sale mode at the moment - although stay clear of buying end-of-summer lines, they really won't last through to next Summer.
