My eye was immediately drawn to the chocolatey caramely gooiness, which I have to say was the most delicious traybake I've ever had. The marshmallow cheesecake was also divine. The topping was so light and the biscuit base was perfectly compacted so it didn't crumble away. Will definitely be returning for some more of this! Deli Espresso proudly stock OCC coffee - which is great to see support for local produce. The canny cake creator used the coffee in chocolate brownies and oh my days - I could eat this all day! It wasn't all about the cake however, there were some sandwiches on offer. After my cake overload, a goats cheese with balsamic poppy knot was a delicious savoury treat to calm my sugar rush.
From browsing the menu, there is a fantastic offering that will cheer up any office day. I already have my eye on ordering the Afternoon Tea, which includes:
*two handmade scones
*Gosforth made jam
*ham & cheese and cheese & ploughmans sandwiches (triangles of course!)
*selection of mini cakes
*two Teapigs teabags for a DIY brew
All of this for a purse savvy £13.95. To make it even more of an occasion for the office, splash out on these fancy accessories from Cath Kidston for a treat!
Sandwich Plate - £7
Napkins - £3.50
Cake flags - £5
All in all, a fantastic deli well worth a visit. Deliveries officially start tomorrow and to start with they are delivering only in a mile radius of the deli, as well as down to the Quayside area. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they deliver to Gateshead soon!
