The Biscuiteers - hurrah for biscuits!

Earlier in the year I was sent a gorgeous little package from The Biscuiteers in the post. I love receiving post. In this fast, digital world there is nothing better than the sound of the doorbell (or in my case the ringing of the intercom) and someone handing over a mysterious package all for you. Anticipation and excitement takes over as you scramble to get in to the package. You don't get that from an email on your iPhone.

I received the Jolly Ginger Biscuit and the Biscuiteers Book of Iced Biscuits...

The Jolly Ginger Biscuit came in the most darling little box, perfectly packaged and so very tempting. I loved the vivid pink tissue paper, just teasing you to open. I kept the Jolly Ginger for a while - just so I could marvel at the perfect icing. The biscuit itself (once demolished) was super tasty and perfect with a cup of tea - from a china cup of course!

The Book of Iced Biscuits is amazing, with lots of hints and tips to tempt you to don your favourite apron and get baking. I decided to tackle a simple iced biscuit for my best friends wedding as an addition to Afternoon Tea, which was surprisingly very easy to do. The butter biscuit dough recipe is foolproof and gives you perfectly formed biscuits ready made for icing. The thought of flood icing scared me immensely, but again, it's easy once you get the hang of it. Here are my biscuits atop the afternoon tea stands.
