Afternoon Tea, David Kennedy at Vallum

Recently I posted the news of the new patisserie at the David Kennedy at Vallum Shop. It was not just good, it was exceptional. Perched overlooking Vallum Farm, the Restaurant is a great spot for looking out over the working fields. The rustic decor and homely charm is instant comfort.

Just last week, David showcased his ideas on his version of Afternoon Tea for the Restaurant. I knew it wouldn't be too long before this was created, especially since the launch patisserie counter. The Afternoon Tea is not yet launched, however I'm delighted to share with you a first glance of what you can expect to come... 




Our Afternoon Tea was served on planks to add to the rustic theme. Not sticking with tradition, the sandwiches and savoury offerings were hearty, packed with flavour and gave a great nod to the local produce from Vallum Farm.


It was hard to pick a highlight, however my particular favourites were the homemade jam, an excellent selection of savoury items and the chocolate and cherry financier. The raspberry macaron with pistachio cream and fresh raspberries was quite a surprise too.
