Manos Venus Pause II Detox update...the home straight

My last update was Tuesday, which seems like a lifetime ago. Since then it's been a long working week, however my headaches that I experienced at the start of the detox have disappeared, I've lost another 3lbs since Tuesday and my skin has cleared up a treat. Which is canny.

Dinner has featured a lot of steamed fish and vegetables and take-to-work lunches being salads with either seafood or tuna. Daytimes at work are so much easier now I'm out of the routine of grazing at my desk. By taking lots of snack pots full of healthy choices, I never go hungry. I've had many a day where I've felt left out of the chocolate run or the sociable biscuit with a cup of steaming tea, but now I just don't feel anything. Here is a collection of my food saviours this week...

Chicken laksa curry with coriander and extra vegetables (instead of noodles)
Grilled bacon, fried eggs and avocado - a healthy alternative to a fry up
Pan-fried chicken with layered vegetables and tomato gravy - doesn't look much but was super tasty
Banana flour free pancakes with coconut milk yoghurt
We've recently launched Starbucks coffee in our bars at work, RIGHT UNDER MY NOSE, and I wasn't fussed about missing out. What I did find out though is a great tea option; Tazo Passion which is a mix of hibiscus, orange peel, rose hips and passion fruit. It means I can still enjoy my sales appointments without cheating.

Towards the end of the week, I was craving something sweet like no tomorrow. From our secret Facebook Forum, someone posted about Coconut Milk Yoghurt. Detox or no detox, this wonderful product is now going on my weekly shopping list. Forget your Muller-full-of-sugars, this is what real food tastes like. Served up with some fresh mango, it's delicious.

Admittedly, I've had ups and downs, but as I'm nearing the end I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. I won't lie, I am looking forward to getting back to normal, however I will be taking LOTS of learnings away from this detox and making some changes to my lifestyle!
