Barrio Comida comes to the toon

I've posted a snippet of a visit to Barrio Comida on the blog here, and everyone LOVED it. Well, all my prayers have been answered and they are making a pilgrimage to the toon very soon!

Barrio Comida is a pop-up sensation from Shaun Hurrell and team, mainly rocking up at Flat White Durham with a eye-popping menu full of authentic, big flavours. Shaun has teamed up with the beautiful people of Riley's Fish Shack and their new quayside haunt to offer a collaboration to make the summer special down at the Quayside Seaside.

Here's what to expect - I'd recommend trying one of everything, and going back for seconds. If it's anything like the Durham pop-ups (and I'm sure it will be) head down early to avoid disappointment of your favourites running out. As everything is locally sourced (Shaun will be hitting up the fish market the day before) the menu is subject to change to make sure everything is as fresh as possible. Drinks won't disappoint either, with Tepache Cheladas (a tricksy take on Mexican shandy) and Micheladas. Let's just hope someone orders some sunshine to go with it, yeah?

So pop the date in your diary peeps - Saturday 30th July, 12noon-10pm. If you're north of the Tyne, it's a great opportunity to see what you're missing in Durham. Keep and eye on updates over on Twitter, and give them a follow on Facebook.

See you down there...
